Peter Alexopoulos has been shooting recreationally and competitively for the past 15 years. His passion for firearms was further fueled by his interest in introducing his sons to Skeet, Trap and Sporting Clays as a means to spend some quality time together and teaching them safe gun handling skills. As a self-proclaimed “lifetime student”, Peter enrolled in numerous firearm training courses in an effort to learn as much as possible from different instructors and experience a variety of teaching methods. This journey has taken him across various disciplines in the Shooting Sports world. Having developed a proficiency with firearms, his passion led him to competitive matches in IDPA and USPSA to further enhance his pistol skills. Multi-Gun matches were a natural progression as this sport utilizes pistols, sporting rifles and shotguns in challenging, timed courses of fire, requiring the safe and effective transitioning between platforms. As matches evolved and included the engagement of targets at longer distances, Peter was bitten by the “Long-Range Precision” bug and began honing his skills in the Practical Precision Rifle arena. Committed to learning the intricacies of precision marksmanship and further developing his skills to successfully engage targets at greater distances, Peter realized that his passion for firearms was deeply rooted.

Throughout his years shooting various firearms, it became apparent that shooting skills were perishable and thus continues to participate in classes to enhance his education, develop his skills and become better at his chosen pastime. Over the years, he was exposed to various training technics and purchased many accessories – some were helpful, and some were not, but this process helped him gain a broader practical understand of the firearms and the vast number of options available for them.  

As an NRA Certified Instructor, Peter blends his passion for firearms, broad experience, and commitment to the safe handling and operation of firearms. Merging his zeal for firearms with his love for teaching, “Sportsman’s Resource Training” was the natural evolution – providing a comprehensive, intuitive, and personalized approach to the firearms world for those new to shooting. As a seasoned businessman, husband and father, his mission is to educate others on the safe and proficient use of firearms.
